Printing on shrink film and shrik wrap with a printer is easy - with the NasaJet® marking and coding systems.

Despite their dubious reputation in environmental matters, films (plastic foils) are still an integral part of everyday industrial life today. The advantages of this material are too clear. Film is inexpensive to purchase, flexible in its use and particularly suitable as a packaging material. Plastic film is also very useful for transporting goods, such as Euro pallets, and is therefore frequently used. Printing on plastic film and shrink film is therefore already a common application in shipping and logistics. The classic method of affixing printed paper slips or labels to the goods to be transported is too time-consuming and inconvenient in the practice of an economy that is becoming faster and faster and is geared to cost pressure. Printing information about the delivery directly on the film packaging can also be important in the retail trade, for example to indicate expiry dates or serial numbers.

Printing on film with inkjet guns (inkjet printers)

An inkjet gun is an excellent choice when it comes to printing film quickly, effectively and inexpensively. In contrast to pre-printed films from special printers, the exact printing location can be freely selected or changed at short notice. For single-colour (monochrome) printing, as is usually sufficient for texts or barcodes, the inkjet principle can also be used very economically. Ink with a wide variety of qualities and properties (waterproof, fluorescent,...) can be had comparatively cheaply today thanks to the large number of manufacturers and suppliers. Typical problems familiar from inkjet printers in the home - clogging of the print nozzles, dried ink - occur less frequently in the commercial sector because the devices are in constant use. Inkjet guns therefore also require little maintenance. For quick and easy printing on shrink film and shrink wrap, there is currently hardly a better solution than a hand-held inkjet printer.
