Mo-Sa: 9:00-18:00Professional Batch coding machines in industry are used to provide products, packaging, outer packaging or transport containers with necessary information such as serial numbers, production data or expiry dates. They thus often form the end of the actual product creation chain, but are indispensable to ensure legal requirements or traceability.
As a rule, a Batch coding machines (aka: Lot coding machines) works with the principle of inkjet printing, as is also known from the printer at home. Products or packaging pass the print head on a conveyor belt and a built-in sensor ensures that the print is made at the appropriate place. Batch coding systems for industry differ from inkjet printing at home primarily in their robustness and speed. The most commonly used standard here is the TIJ (Thermal Inkjet) process from Hewlett Packard. The actual printing unit consists of one or more ink cartridges with an integrated print head that can be controlled externally in a freely programmable way. This task is usually taken over by an external component that both creates and manages the print data and processes the control signals from sensors. Together with appropriate holding devices for different purposes (assembly line, manual,...), you then have a complete labelling system that can be flexibly integrated into a wide variety of manufacturing processes.
The advantages of the proven TIJ system lie in its robustness and flexibility, but also in the principle of contactless printing, which avoids wear due to friction, but also damage to the product.
Batch coding systems must above all be able to keep up with the high production speeds, but at the same time be variable. The print speed is therefore a particularly important quality factor for such systems. Printing speeds of up to 60m/min are quite common here.
Print quality is not necessarily the decisive factor for inkjet coding systems, but of course the applied content must be clear and legible - especially for very small information such as expiry dates or serial numbers. Fast-drying inks must also be used to prevent smudging of the printouts at high processing speeds.
In practice, most Batch coding machines only need to have a limited print height, as text or codes (barcodes, QR codes) are usually printed. For the labelling of larger units (pallets, cardboard boxes,...), mobile manual labelling devices are then more suitable.
Higher-quality systems for labelling products even offer the control of several printing units. This makes it possible, for example, to print several copies on top of each other or to mark an object from different sides at the same time. On the one hand, this speeds up the process itself, but on the other hand it also saves the cost-intensive adaptation (e.g. turning the objects) of the production line already available on site.
Finally, it is important that coding systems can be easily integrated into the existing production and have standardised interfaces. In practice, this is usually done by separating the computer unit from the printing unit, whereby the computer unit nowadays often only consists of a small device with an integrated touch screen, which can be mounted anywhere near the printing unit.

Even for large production volumes and for integration into existing production lines, we offer the NasaJet® NJ-2000, a professional yet economical batch coding machine and system. The separate control and print units of the NasaJet® NJ-2000 allow a quick and easy installation into existing productions with a maximum print speed of up to 60m per minute. The print units can be flexibly positioned to allow simultaneous printing of different pages at the same time.
The control unit allows the creation of even complex print templates directly via the built-in touch screen. The output of expiry dates, serial numbers or barcodes is thus fully automated. And the labelling costs remain economical.
We will be happy to answer any questions you may have about our NasaJet® systems or to demonstrate the NasaJet® to you personally.
